    A-Plus Contracting & Poly Welding is a leading Civil and Mining contractor based in Branxton servicing Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Central Coast regions in the coal mine, government and power industries. Due to continued growth, we require established operators and labourers to join our civil maintenance team.

    Permanent positions available 

    Monday to Friday roster

    Applicants Will As A Minimum:

    • Promote and uphold the A Plus Contracting Safety Culture.

    • Work within a team environment or autonomously as required.

    • Willing to undertake pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test.

    • Hold a current NSW Construction Industry White Card

    • Hold a Heavy Rigid Licence (Desirable)

    • Show written evidence of plant operating experience. (Operators only)

    Due to continued growth, we have immediate long term Permanent employment opportunities for the right candidates as Poly Welding Technician in the hunter region.

    Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Can Demonstrate That They:

    • Hold a current Driver’s License, must be unrestricted Class C or higher.

    • Have current poly welding certificate.

    • Dogging Ticket (willing to attend training)

    • Operate Chainsaw Ticket (willing to attend training)

    • No less than 1 year of poly welding

    Aplus contracting and Poly welding are seeking a hands-on and practical WHS Officer to join our team. Based in our Branxton office in New south Wales, the focus is to take a hands on approach in working with our site based teams, maintaining OHS records to meet legal obligations and risk management objectives as well as partner with managers and employees to proactively and practically achieve the best OH&S practices and compliance. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the development and continual improvement of WHS processes procedures, systems, SWMS and risk assessments

    • Regularly attend client mines sites, facilitating team and 1:1 interaction with all employees 

    • Record and investigate accidents, incidents, issues and recommending corrective actions

    • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics 

    • Participate in safety induction, manage training requirements for all employees, maintain training records

    • Effective injury management and return to work processes

    • Apply risk management processes to minimise workplace hazards 

    Required experience and skills:

    • 2-3 years proven experience in similar role working with Health and Safety, environment and Quality management systems 

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS legislation, its application and managing those requirements

    • Previous experience in the mining industry is desirable 

    • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills 

    • Superior time management, analytical and problem-solving skills 

    • Sound computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities across different sites

    Required Qualifications:

    • Certificate IV in WHS or related discipline 

    • ICAM Lead Investigator training (desirable)

    • Return to Work Coordinator (desirable)
